What effects will a President Trump have on Media Freedom?
Donald Trump’s allegedly unexpected win over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential Election represented Middle America rejecting the policies and propaganda of the PC Marxist Democratic Party and its ilk, including the vast majority of the Mass Media. Trump’s attitude toward the Lying Press, observations of the organized Mass Media as “The Opposition Party”, and his “Direct Media” approach of Tweeting and speaking to The American People via his YouTube Channel should inspire the same spirit among We The People… Will it inspire a similar spirit among factions of The Press? Will it inspire their replacement?
Beyond the methods, what about the spirit and content of what is to be communicated? Will Trump’s tone, and the perspectives of the so-called “Deplorables” receive their deserved platform to provide a voice for those concerns? While the Establishment Media will likely continue to fight tooth & nail to retain their undeserved, privileged position of influence and spin doctoring, will they at least to some extent succumb to the reality that the market making up their viewership is so displeased with them that they consider them illegitimate? Will some pay lip-service to Deplorable concerns and perspectives with token shows or personalities while really working against those interests?
Will truly Independent Media with paleoconservative, libertarian, and, yes, “Alt-Right” perspectives that make up much of the new shows and content? Will these have to remain solely on The Internet, or will they find their platforms boosted on Local, Regional, or even National television?
Will Entertainment shift away from PC propaganda in general? Or, will Hollywood and New York double down and push harder to force unwanted and rejected ideologies on The American People and everywhere else? Will Independent Entertainment Media with truly conservative and right-of-center perspectives rise up to challenge the organized Marxist Media Establishment?
Trump’s Presidential victory carries with it the spirit of Freedom that characterized the Original Generation Internet Users of the 1990s. In an age when the Legacy Establishment Media is pushing its agendas especially hard on their long-held platforms while attempting hostile takeover of Cyberspace (while being rejected all the way by The American People), will this result in a New Era of Media Freedom?
